The 1953 Corvette was the very first Corvette ever produced, marking the birth of America's iconic sports car. Only 300 units were built, all in Polo White with red interiors. It was unveiled at the GM Motorama in New York City, and just 300 cars were hand-built. It was powered by a 235 cu in Blue Flame inline-six engine with triple Carter carburetors, producing 150 horsepower. Its fiberglass construction, revolutionary at the time, helped keep weight down and gave the car its sleek curves.
