The “100” designation referred to its advertised ability to hit 100 mph (“doing the ton”), which was impressive for a 500 cc bike of its era. The model dates back to 1939 and resumed production after World War II. The 1947 T100 was considered a sporty, nimble roadster by the standards of its day.
