Banksy Phone Tap 2011 Street Art T-shirt
Appearing in the summer of 2011, Phone Tap was Banksy's characteristically immediate response to the News International phone-hacking scandal, which was then dominating British public life. Journalists working for the News of the World had illegally accessed private voicemail messages, including those of celebrities, politicians and victims of crime. The scandal culminated in the newspaper's closure in July 2011 and a major public debate about privacy, journalism and media power.
