Warhol The Marx Brothers (1980) Illustration T-shirt
The Marx Brothers were an American family comedy act that was successful in vaudeville, on Broadway, and in motion pictures from 1905 to 1949. The image Warhol used here was a film still taken from the 1946 film ‘A Night in Casablanca,’ from which he employed abstract, collage-like blocks of color to contrast with the photographic print.
